May is The Month Of Mom

May is here and even though Mother’s Day has come and gone, I believe the entire month should be ‘the month of Mom’. One day is simply not enough – we deserve to keep the celebration going!

I honestly took mom appreciation to the next level after I became a mom myself. The commitment, the time, the care, and all the sacrifice. Wow – parenting ain't easy! It may have been difficult to plan something for yourself on Mother’s Day – I get it. That’s why I If you’re like me - you might decide to wrap up the month with a little something-something for yourself. Why not?!

Here are a few ideas for how to continue the love for ALL moms, including yourself for the rest of May.

xoxo Nira

Nira’s Hot List was shot at S+L Kitchen & Bar South Surrey.

Empress Elderflower Rose Gin

There’s a new Gin in town! Inspired by our beautiful location in Victoria, British Columbia, Empress Elderflower Rose Gin pays homage to the 'City of Gardens,' where flowers blossom nearly year-round. Being an Island girl, I definitely have a soft spot for this one! The fresh, floral botanicals create a delicate spirit with a distinctive all-natural rose hue.  And yes this will feel familiar to you it’s from the makers of the #1-selling premium gin, Empress 1908 Indigo Gin.

The Empress Elderflower Rose Gin is a must try!

  • Distilled with 9 unique botanicals, including juniper berries, rose petals, elderflower, lavender, orange peel, orris root, cinnamon, coriander and black carrot.

  • They use a unique combination of red rose petals and black carrots to achieve its stunning ruby hue. Roses are a traditional gin botanical with a beautiful floral note and a delicate aroma. The black carrot adds a touch of sweetness and enhances and maintains our rich ruby colour.

Vintage Ink Wine

I love trying different wines but I absolutely love it when I try a wine and get blown away with the price-point. This Spring I wanted to test out some new drinks to prepare for Summer entertaining. If you do too, I suggest to give Vintage Ink Wine a try.

Vintage Ink Wine is one of BC’s top Okanagan wine brands – giving us white, red and rose. Their winemakers are masters of their craft, producing premium wines using locally-cultivated Okanagan grapes and experimenting with wine aging in tequila and whisky barrels.

I also love the artistry of their wine labels - SO cool!
