My Smiles Self Care Scan Party

I don’t know a woman in the world who would say ‘no’ to a little Self Care. So when the team at Smiles Orthodontics approached me about hosting a Scan Party, I was all-in! A Scan Party is something so very exclusive that I’m willing to bet you don’t know what I’m even talking about! lol So let me explain…

To understand what a Scan Party is, let’s first go back in time to last Summer. My hair was blonde, my teeth were crooked, and I was about to venture into an appointment that would change my life. I was visiting Smiles Orthodontics for what I thought would be teeth whitening. Long story short, I ended up having my mouth scanned and an Invisalign consultation!

The experience was something undeniable. Through the magic of technology, I was able to see my teeth replicated on screen as the familiar ‘before’. Then, I was able to discover what could be my ‘after’ – post Invisalign treatment. My exact teeth in beautifully straight position! It was me… but so much better!

The rest, as they say, is history and about 8 months later (with much straighter teeth, I might add) I was given the opportunity to gift this experience to my closest friends… right from the comfort of my home!

If you’ve been following along my Invisalign journey, you’ll know that Jocelyn and Riju have been my go-to gals throughout my treatment. Clearly, I was already a believer when it comes to Invisalign, but it took me right up until the night of the party to understand how the women were going to be able to transport such incredible technology to my home! In my opinion, the opportunity to see how your own mouth can look with perfectly straight teeth is PRICELESS. Because of Jocelyn and Riju, my friends were given the chance to try out the scan during an evening of wine, charcuterie and female friendship.

The guest list consisted of a range of ladies in my life including my mom and life-long friends, extending to longtime friendships forged through social media alone! Two of the lovely ladies came that night for what was our first in person meeting, ever! It was honestly the neatest thing – and despite what you might think – not the least bit ‘weird’! lol

I knew that the group would be a diverse mix of women who would certainly not all know each other, so I had the idea for us to all wear matching robes! It was a win. The robes unified us for the evening. We were like a team. And since we were embracing the comfy, spa-like theme, we could all just relax and have fun!

One little lady who probably had the most fun of all was my eight year old daughter, Kadence. Never a shrinking violet, she inserted herself as the ‘belle of the ball’, so it was no surprise that she was the first to volunteer to be scanned. She was followed by my supportive mom… then other friends took their turn.

To add to the Self Care itinerary, my good friend Jenny Valla from JennyV Makeup, Hair & Lashes gave us a fabulous demo on how to Contour like a professional. Christine was her volunteer model – and it was amazing to see her natural beauty become enhanced by the moment with Jenny’s application techniques.

Every good party needs good food and drinks! I am a firm believer in having a welcome drink on the ready for guests… and to make it extra special, I created these heart shaped ice cubes with raspberries.

The spread was delicious. My friend Aziza from Zee’s Charcuterie came through with heart-shaped, individual charcuterie boards that were adorably delish!

Photos shared were taken by my talented photographer friend Kaylyn Barr.

I want to thank Jocelyn, Riju and the entire team at Smiles Orthodontics for making this Invisalign journey so much better than I could have ever imagined. As my treatment continues, I am so proud of my decision and commitment. But not only that, I am incredibly grateful to be working with Smiles.
