NIRA'S HOT LIST – MARCH 2022

Nira’s Hot List Contributed by Virgin Radio Morning Show Co-Host Nira Arora | @niraarora

It’s about that time of year – Spring has arrived! There are so many ways that we can practice Spring cleaning, these days. Traditionally, it’s usually in our closets as we purge… or add some spring love to our wardrobe. Today I’m sharing some other ways to access that refreshed feeling – starting with ourselves! How about we take that spring cleaning to a different level?  Sometimes the best thing that you can do is to give yourself a break! Give your mind, body and spirit a well-deserved boost! Here are a few suggestions to to help you get started and energized for Spring.

The Home – Saje

Here’s an amazing way to Spring clean your home and keep our planet cleaner too. Saje has reformulated and revamped their home cleaning line. Their first collection of cleaning products came out in 2018 and with community feedback they have now made some exciting changes. While they still feature the popular plant-based formulas, Saje has ditched the plastic packaging. The line now features biodegradable and concentrated cleaning extracts with reusable glass bottles. You can clean your home from top to bottom without creating unnecessary waste. Want my prediction of the fan favorite? Their Multi-Surface formula in the eucalyptus and black spruce scent! Not only does it smell amazing but it effectively cleans almost every surface!

Your Face - Dermalogica

It’s time to get ‘Slugging’ for Spring.

Having taken the beauty world by storm, slugging is a skincare trend which involves coating your face in an ‘occlusive agent’ to prevent transepidermal water loss and keep moisture in your skin. It's best for dry skin types. Slugging has been proven to help seal in moisture and promote deep skin healing overnight.

According to Dermalogica’s specialists here’s how to make sure you get the best out of your slugging experience:

1. Cleanse: Make sure there is a clean slate before applying any products to your skin.

2. Hydrate: Hydrate! Hydrate!: To ensure skin is plump and prepped, use a hydrating serum or moisturizer before applying your sealing agent.

3. Slug away: With your occlusive agent, take a pea-sized amount and evenly apply a very thin layer onto your skin.

Looking for the perfect way to ‘Slug’? Try Dermalogica’s Phyto Replenish Oil – a feather-light treatment oil that rapidly absorbs to reinforce the skin’s protective barrier.

Slugging can help to prevent blackheads as well as minimize fine lines, but it doesn’t end there! If you have suffered from dry skin during these cold, pesky winters - the steps above will keep you extra hydrated, no matter the area of concern.

Your Skin - Só Coconut & Oat Milk Bath

My kids and I often have issues with dry skin and I’m not a fan of strong creams or prescription meds. If you’re like us, Só’s Coconut & Oat Milk Bath could be a game changer! Made with 100% certified organic and food-grade ingredients, naturally rich in fatty acids, vitamin E and saponins, their Coconut & Oat Milk Bath will gently cleanse your sensitive skin without stripping the natural oils.

Só’s Coconut & Oat Milk Bath helps to eliminate dirt, impurities, dead skin and other blemish-causing debris while replenishing moisture. Plus, it delivers healing benefits to dry skin, minor cuts, burns and rashes. Oatmeal has natural anti-itch properties that soothe dry, itchy or inflamed skin. In addition, take advantage of the natural anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties. Plus, its safe for babies too! I learned about Só from one of my favourite local boutiques in South Surrey, Crush Clothing www.shopcrush.ca and instantly fell in love!  If you want to support local and you want to be natural – then you want to be Só. In Irish, Só means luxury and as a brand, they aim to embody Só in everything they do and in every product they create.
